Boys to Men: Nivea’s Great Football Experiment
November 16th, 2011 by admin
There are few times in life when a team can grow from boys and into men. It looks like Nivea is going to help one team try to do just that. The “boys” are Ivory F.C., a team that won a competition. Nivea is putting together a challenge that it calls the “Great Football Experiment.” This football experiment is really a simple one. The idea was to take applications from all across the country. At the end of the day, Nivea wanted to get a team that would work hard and prepare hard for its final task. That task? Taking on a team of legends.
The chance to play against a bunch of English football legends is something that many people dream of. The guys from Ivory F.C. will have that opportunity. They won’t just go out there and play, though. At the start of the training, Ivory are sure to just be boys. They enter the experiment unprepared for the challenge ahead. In fact, the team look poor in skills and fitness. This will change, though, as Nivea seeks to turn these boys into grown men. They will need to be men, too, if they want to take down a team of legends that is certain to be prepared.
The idea is not just to give them a field and a ball to prepare. After all, that is not the way Nivea wanted this experiment to go down. The idea, instead, was to see just how much this team could withstand. Could the team withstand training and fitness work from two of the best coaches in the world? Regardless of what the team “could” withstand, that is what it will get. Nivea has set up Ivory F.C. with two great coaches who will hopefully guide them to success. At the end of the day, that is what it is really all about. If the preparation works, then Ivory will have a fighting chance to take down a world-class team of legends.
The experiment’s success rides on the legs of Ivory F.C. Can the club live up to the billing? That remains to be seen.
